Update to my presentations for the September SharePoint Camp

Tags: Speaking Events

Next month, on September 19th, I'll be speaking at the Twin Cities SharePoint camp. I was going to be presenting on using Silverlight and jQuery within your SharePoint web parts, but because of a large number of presentations being submitted on that subject, I volunteered to go a different direction. Instead, I'll be giving two presentations, one on SharePoint governance, and the other on Excel Services (and Silverlight J). Below are the full descriptions:

Session Info

Session Type (Example: Administrator, Developer, Architect, Designer, End User….)

Session Name:

How to Effectively Manage your SharePoint Customizations, Deployments, and Environments with Solution Packages, Source Control, and Solid Governance

Session Description:

Development deployments across your farms are difficult to manage, especially if you have a large team. Chaos can reign, all the way from coding, to testing, and to environment consistency and stability. The solution lies with implementing best practices and good, clearly defined leadership. Come learn how to control the chaos!

(Deploying customizations with Visual Studio will be demonstrated at the end (10-15 minutes), hence the level 200 and "Developer" session type)
